My colleague Carl Heath sent me a small challenge via LinkedIn, asking me to look over some kind of solution for his workflow, which already has parts of AI in it but still involves some manual work. Today I responded with a working prototype of the app Diane. Below you can read what I wrote in the post and there are also links to his question and original post.

Part II - Response on helping create more efficient workflows with AI - a question and challenge from Carl Heath
Hi Carl! I’ve now watched your film/letter and coded together a small working prototype for you called “Diane” (yes, there’s a small connection to a certain TV series for those of you who are old enough). Here’s how Diane works, as I show in the video:
- Click the red button to record your voice, or your meeting
- Click again to stop. The recording is now automatically sent for transcription with Whisper.
- Click to choose a template — that is, what type of meeting or similar was held — in order to instruct ChatGPT how to compile the transcription. We choose project, which is your project description template. That is automatically sent to ChatGPT.
- If you’re happy with the compilation, click save, and the compilation is saved in your (Carl’s) default program for documents and notes, which is Obsidian. It could just as well have been OneNote, Notion, Teams, or another tool.
- Bonus… if you choose the LinkedIn template, an image is also generated using the AI service DALL-E :)
All this happens with a couple of clicks in a single app.
What do you think? Shall we have a meeting and let you try this?

Disclaimer
I’m not a programmer. I can only tinker a bit with code and put things together. Of course I also got a bit of help from ChatGPT. :)
