Free music for video productions or live streams

NOTE! I can never guarantee that you won’t run into trouble in the form of claims or copyright notices if you upload my songs to the major platforms, even though I share them freely.
The music world is broken and the platforms’ content-id is broken, which means things are sometimes flagged incorrectly. Today I got a copyright notice from Facebook on my own song that I uploaded. So if you want to use these songs, you do so at your own risk. Unfortunately.
Over the past year, with an increase in film and live productions, it has become extra clear how complicated it is to be able to use music in video. Everything from having a bit of background music a couple of minutes before a meeting so participants can easily set their audio — to enhancing films and similar content with music — is basically impossible. As a longtime musician I want nothing more than to be able to pay to use music, but no one is safe from the platforms’ automated zeal to shut down broadcasts or take down videos. My solution now is to create my own music and of course I invite you all to use it too. Completely free.
I’ve simply had enough of what is OK on YouTube being taken down on Facebook and vice versa. So far I haven’t had a live broadcast stopped, but it just feels like a matter of time. Let’s hope a simple sensible model for how music use should work appears in the future.
The music library
In the menu here on the site, under Musik | mickekring.se/musik - you’ll find my library of free music under Creative Commons CC BY. Right now there are only two songs, but I’m aiming to make one song a week in different genres, so give it a couple of months and there should be a number.
The songs can be listened to directly on the page and downloaded, both as mp3 and in wav format. Hope they’ll be useful! Edit: The music is now also available on various streaming services too. Micke Kring on Spotify Micke Kring on Apple Music Krook Music on Youtube
