Interviewed on the Digitalsamtal podcast about digitalization in schools

Last week I had the honour of appearing on the podcast Digitalsamtal — hosted by Anders Thoresson — on the theme “the digitalisation of schools”. The episode was released yesterday, so if you want to listen, just go for it. Be sure to subscribe to the podcast as well, if you don’t already! At the same time, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you for the input you’ve shared with me since then! You can find the episode here

About the episode - excerpt from Digitalsamtal

What does “digitalisation” actually mean? Digitalsamtal has looked for an answer to that question before. This week it’s time again, but with a clarification: What is “the digitalisation of schools” really? The person delivering their answer is Micke Kring, IT educator at Årstaskolan in Stockholm. Among other things he thinks that digitalisation as content in teaching is discussed far too much, that “the digitalisation of schools” has come to be about primarily other issues — which often means the student perspective gets lost. But the conversation is also about how it’s possible to digitalise — that is, change something using digital tools — with relatively modest means. By leveraging “building blocks” that are available free online, cost a few hundred kronor, or come in the form of retired hardware, it’s possible to create significant value for operations.
