The Spelfokus Podcast: Games and Learning

There was another podcast this week! This time I’m a guest on the podcast Spelfokus, run by my awesome colleagues Björn Flintberg and Gabriella Kalteneckar.

In the episode I briefly talk about using the Games context in school work and bring up some concrete examples from my time at Årstaskolan — including the project “Sista Bossen” which I did together with the fantastic teacher Martin Fernström (Feel free to contact him if you’re curious about “Sista Bossen”.

In the future I hope we finish the material we started.). In my small anecdotal world I strongly believe it’s easier to learn with the help of these contexts. For example, if we work with programming within math/technology it’s a bit easier to explain what a variable is if you can illustrate it as the place where you can store and change the number of lives or points. Besides, games aren’t just about programming, but also storyboard, a story, graphics and design, among other things.
